Reading Process Paper Overview
[Detailed Explanation] [View Assignment List]

This paper requires you to analyze your reading process. The paper should be based on the notebook entries you will keep in your journal all term.

You will not explore every aspect of reading every source, but you will find some pattern or theme in your reading process that you think is interesting, and illustrate it in your paper. Your paper should, however, discuss the reading of more than one author.

The proposal for this paper should consist of a paragraph explaining what your thesis will be, and listing your main subtopics.

The paper should not be a narrative that explains your thoughts in the order they happened, but an analysis that discusses a pattern or related patterns in your thinking.

Successful papers will:

  1. discuss specific points in the text and how you read them.
  2. refer to your notebooks briefly, without excessive quotation, and will explain points in them clearly to someone who has not read them.

    Length: about 5 pages.
