However, this class does require you to:
Due Dates: Papers are due in my mailbox by 9: 00 AM of the day after the date specified on the Course Schedule, if you are in class that day. Otherwise, papers are due at the beginning of class on the specified day.
Late Papers: may be penalized by lowered grades.
Attendance: Because class discussion constitutes an integral part of the course, you are expected to attend class regularly. If you do not meet the attendance requirement, you will not be considered to have satisfied the course's requirements, even if you turn in acceptable work in the other assignments. Students who have more than three unexcused absences can expect to have their grades determined at the discretion of the instructor. This may involve lowering of the student's grade as calculated from other components of the course and requiring the completion of additional assignments.
Plagiarism: Plagiarism is using someone else's words or ideas as your own without acknowledging the source with proper documentation. See Holt Handbook. pp. 279-286. Also helpful is the discussion of paraphrasing, Holt Handbook, pp. 271-285. Students found guilty of plagiarism will fail the assignment and the course.
